This team owns the core infrastructure that clears billions of dollars in daily volume for the world's largest financial institutions. You'll write performance-critical code, own system reliability end to end, and ship features that directly expand Coinbase's trading capabilities.</p> <p class="mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap"><strong>What you'll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build and operate low-latency, event-sourced trading systems spanning matching, order entry, risk, and market data across cloud and colocated environments.</li> <li>Own the reliability and correctness of production systems processing high-throughput financial data 24/7, including incident response and failover design.</li> <li>Partner with Product, Infrastructure, and senior engineering leadership to translate strategy into quarterly deliverables and well-scoped milestones.</li> <li>Drive technical design decisions within your domain, producing clear proposals and building consensus with peers and tech leads.</li> <li>Write high-quality, well-tested code in a performance-critical backend environment (Java, C++, or Go), with a focus on latency and throughput.</li> </ul> <p class="mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap"><strong>Required Skills and Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of software engineering experience, with hands-on ownershi
